Brief Description
The Statue of Unity is a colossal statue of Indian statesman and independence activist Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Sardar Patel was the first Home minister of independent India and the chief adherent of Mahatma Gandhi during the non-violent Indian Independence movement. The Statue is 182 metres tall it is grabbing the attention form all over the world as it is the 'Tallest statue in the World'.

History
Statue of Unity is located in the state of Gujarat, India. As Sardar Patel had a deep place in his heart for farmers so farmers were asked to donate their used farming instruments in order to show their respect to this great freedom fighter. And, Indian farmers not disappoints this effort of Gujarat Govt., as per the records By 2016, total 135 metric tonnes of scrap iron had collected from all over India. The statue is named as "Statue of Unity" as Sardar Patel had out his immense efforts & showed his leadership quality highly in uniting the 562 princely states of India to form the single Union of India.

Nearest Railway Station/Airport.
The Statue of Unity is Located in Gujarat, by the banks of River Narmada on the River Island of Sadhu Bet near Sardar Sarovar Dam which is 3.2 km away from Statue of Unity. Although nearest Airport or Railway Station from Statue of Unity is Vadodara. But due to high connectivity with other cities of flights & train from Ahmedabad, Ahmedabad is generally preferred by the people going to visit Statue of Unity. From Ahmedabad it is situated at distance of 200 kms. This distance is large but due to well developed roads & managed traffic of Gujarat this distance can be covered within 3 hrs of maximum time.

Entry & What to See?
Entry ticket is required to visit Statue of Unity. Entry tickets can be booked online from the official website of Gujarat Govt. which is "https://soutickets.in/". Although tickets can be booked at the spot as well but to avoid rush at the ticket window book your tickets online only.
Entry ticket includes visit to the observation deck, valley of flowers, the Sardar Patel memorial, museum and audio-visual gallery, the Statue of Unity site and the Sardar Sarovar dam. Two superfast elevators are installed to take visitors up to the statue’s chest for a stunning view of the countryside. You can spot the Sardar Sarovar dam and dozens of villages dotting the country. At the visitor’s centre you can explore the three-storey space which has a museum, an audiovisual gallery and a laser and sound show all designed around the theme of unity. The statue has a viewing gallery at 153 meters which can accommodate 200 visitors at once with an expansive view of the dam and the countryside around it.
