Description

Day 1: Guwahati – Bhalukpong (240 Kms/5 Hrs)
Welcome on arrival at Guwahati Airport/Railway Station Arunachal & Meghalaya Tour Package. On arrival at the Airport/Railway Station you will be greeted by AMT’s representative. After warm greetings proceed to Bhalukpong, entry hub of Arunachal Pradesh. Upon arrival, check-in to your hotel & rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at Bhalukpong.

Day 2 Bhalukpong – Dirang (150 km/5 -6 Hours)
Post breakfast, proceed to Dirang small hill station in west Kameng district. Its spectacular landscape and beauteous nature will surely please your eyes and comfort your body and soul. We will visit Kalachakra Gompa also referred as Dirang Monastery and perceive the serene land. Witness kiwi orchids, then to Dirang Dzong (fort) which is about 150 years old and have an excellent view of the surrounding. Upon arrival at Dirang, check into the hotel. In the evening you are free to visit the hot water spring, regional sheep farm, Sangti and Yak Research Center. Overnight stay at Dirang.

Day 3: Dirang – Sela Pass – Tawang (140 km/6 -7 hours)
After relishing a wholesome breakfast, proceed for a drive to Tawang and continue to reach the scenic Sela Pass, the only way that connects Tawang district of the state to the rest of the country. Besides its geographical importance Sela Pass is breathtaking place always covered in snow providing some beautiful views of the eastern Himalayan range. En-route visit famous Sela Lake. Upon reaching Tawang, check in to your hotel. Have a pleasant overnight stay at the hotel in Tawang.

Day 4: Tawang – Pangateng Tso Lake – Maduri Lake – Bumla Pass – Tawang (Optional)
Post breakfast, start your day with breathtaking view of Shonga-tser Lake (Madhuri Lake), surrounded by snow- capped mountains and the valley offer a spectacular view. Next move on to Bum La Pass about 37km away from Tawang, it is the indo-china border that lies at 15,200 ft above sea level. On your way back stop by heart lake, PTSO lake, Naghula lake, which will surely make your day. After this return to your hotel for comfortable overnight stay in Tawang. (Mathuri Lake & Bunmla Pass tour could be done on additional cost).

Day 5: Tawang – Bomdila (180 Kms/7-8 Hrs.)
Post breakfast, we will move on to Bomdila. Pay a visit to Bomdila Monastery, which was established in the year of 1965. Explore over 5000 orchid verities including some rarest species of orchid in Tipi Orchidarium. This will be shown to you on the next day, en-route to airport drop. In Bomdila, have a spectacular view from Bomdila View Point, witness impeccable beauty of Bomdila. In the evening enjoy local market. Afterwards retune to your hotel for the overnight stay in Bomdila.

Day 6: Bomdila – Tipi – Tezpur (170 Kms/6 Hrs.)
Today after breakfast we will drive to Tezpur, en-route visit the Orchid Center at Tipi. Tipi houses over 7500 orchids. On display are some of the finest species like the Dainty Lady’s Slipper or the more formal sounding Dendrobium. Continue drive to Tezpur. Upon arrival, check into the hotel. Fresh-n-up and enjoy a sightseeing tour of Tezpur. The place is also known as ‘The City of Blood’. It is steeped in mythologies and legends. Situated on the north bank of Brahmaputra, this town of magnificent scenic beauty and exquisite archaeological ruins is the head quarter of Sonitpur District. Overnight stay at Tezpur.

Day 7: Tezpur – Shillong (250 Kms/6-7 Hrs)
After morning breakfast at the hotel proceed to Shillong. Shillong became the first capital of the State of Meghalaya. Located in undulating pine covered hills, the city has a milder climate than tropical India. The city centre is 1496m above sea level and currently has a population of around 270,000. Home to several waterfalls, it is also known as the Scotland of the East. The British legacy is still visible in the architecture and food habits of the population. Overnight at Shillong.

Day 8: Shillong – Cherrapunjee
After breakfast, start your journey towards Cherrapunjee with lush green mountains viewing numerous waterfalls falling all over on route to Cherapunjeee. En-route visit, Shillong Peak & Elephant Falls, named after an Elephant like stone at its foot, the Elephant Falls are amongst the most popular falls in the North-East.Upon arrival at Cherrapunjee, visit MawkdokDympep Valley View Point, Seven Sisters Falls & amazing Eco Park. Overnight stay in the hotel at Cherrapunjee.

Day 9: Cherrapunjee Excursion
Early morning (5 AM) your journey (Optional)to Double Decker Root Bridge, deep in the dense tropical forest of Meghalaya is must visit destination known for its numerous waterfalls. It’s 3000 step journey (Trek) down the hill and the trek starts from Tyrna Village (10 Kms from Sohra, Cherrapunjee). The aprox. time to complete the journey(both ways) is 5-6 Hrs. After returning from double decker Root Bridge, have lunch & then proceed to visit Nohkalikai Falls, the tallest plunge waterfall in India. Mawsmai Cave, Nohsngithiang Falls&Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama. Overnight stay in the hotel at Cherrapunjee.

Day 10: Cherrapunjee – Mawlynnong – Dawki – Shillong
Today early morning, start your road journey to Mawlynnong. Mawlynnong was awarded the prestigious tag of ‘Cleanest Village in Asia’ in 2003. Visit Root Bridge & Bamboo Bridge. After Mawlynnong, you will start your journey to border town of Dawki, a hidden paradise. The driver will keep getting you closer and closer to the Bangladesh plains which you had first spotted from Mawlynnong Village. Umngot River in Dawki is crystal clear & is considered one the cleanest rivers in India. You can enjoy boat ride in the river. Later in the evening return to Shillong for overnight stay.

Day 11: Shillong Sightseeing & Transfer to Guwahati
In the morning after breakfast check out from the hotel & visit Ward’s Lake Museum, Airforce Museum & Lady Hydari Park. Later proceed to Guwahati for the drop. After arriving at Guwahati we will drop you at the Airport/Railway Station for your onward journey. Your arrival at the Airport/Railway Station will mark the end of Arunachal & Meghalaya Tour Package & services of AMT with everlasting memories of Northeast.
