Regular bus services and hired vehicles connect Kalimpong with Siliguri and the neighbouring towns of Kurseong, Darjeeling and Gangtok. Journry with Four Wheeler Vehicle are popular means of transport, as they can easily navigate the steep slopes in the region.The area around Kalimpong lies in the Eastern Himalayas, which is classified as an ecological hotspot, one of only three among the ecoregions of India. Neora Valley National Park lies within the Kalimpong subdivision and is home to tigers. Acacia is the most commonly found species at lower altitudes, while cinnamon, ficus, bamboo and cardamom, are found in the hillsides around Kalimpong. The forests found at higher altitudes are made up of pine trees and other evergreen alpine vegetation. The temperate deciduous forests include oak, birch, maple and alder.  The Red panda, Clouded leopard, Siberian weasel, Asiatic black bear, barking deer, Himalayan tahr, goral, gaur and pangolin are some of the fauna found near Kalimpong. Avifauna of the region include the pheasants, cuckoos, mini vets, flycatchers, bulbuls, orioles, owls, partridges, sunbirds, warblers, swallows, swifts and woodpeckers.

Description

Day 01: Bagdogra – Darjeeling (80 KMS/3 HRS.)
On arrival at the Bagdogra Airport/NJP Railway Station for Darjeeling Kalimpong Gangtok Tour Package you will be greeted by AMT’s representatives. He will transfer you to Darjeeling. After arriving at Darjeeling check in at the hotel. In the evening explore the famous Mall Road of Darjeeling. Later return to hotel followed by overnight stay.

Day 02: Darjeeling Sightseeing
Early in the morning (4 AM), go to Tiger Hills to watch the spectacular sunrise and its amazing effects on the Mt. Kanchendzonga. Also visit Ghoom Monastery and Batashia Loop War Memorial while returning to the hotel. Breakfast at the hotel followed by half day local sightseeing covering Padmaja N.Zoological Garden (closed on Thursday), Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursday), Tibetian Refugee Self-help Centre (closed on Sunday) and visit to the Mall and local market (closed on Thursday). Evening Free for shopping & individual activity. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

Day 03: Darjeeling – Kalimpong (60 KMS/2.5 HRS)
Savour a scrumptious breakfast and transfer to Kalimpong. On arrival, check in at the hotel and rest for a while. Get set for a half-day city tour, which includes Mangal Dham, Deolo Hill, Dr. Graham’s Homes, Durpin Dara Hill and the flower nursery. After this, head back to the hotel in Kalimpong for a peaceful night stay.

Day 04: Kalimpong – Gangtok (75 KMS/3.5 HRS)
In the morning after breakfast check out from the hotel & proceed to Gangtok. The capital of Sikkim & base for exploring other parts of Sikkim. Initially established as a Buddhist pilgrimage site promising of the best monasteries & landscapes. Upon arrival check in at the hotel. Later in the evening you could explore MG Marg Market. Return to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 05: Gangtok – Tsomgo Lake – Baba Mandir – Nathu La Pass (Optional) – Gangtok
This morning, after having your breakfast, leave for your excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir.A tranquil and scenic lake, Tsomgo Lake is one of the most popular attractions of Gangtok. This glacial lake is considered holy by Sikkimese people. There is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, located on the banks of the lake. The place is a paradise for bird watchers as get to spot a number of Brahmini ducks and migratory birds near the lake. Located at a distance of around 16 km from Tsomgo Lake is Baba Mandir. A popular pilgrim center, Baba Mandir, the shrine is built in the memory of Baba Harbhajan Singh, who was an Indian Army soldier and lost his life near Nathula Pass. It is believed that he is still on duty for the Indian Army and he guards the lives of soldiers posted on the India- China border. You have an option of visiting Nathula Pass, which is located 20 km from the shrine. Later, head back to Gangtok. In the evening, go for a stroll around the MG road or any of the local shopping centers. Stay overnight at the hotel at Gangtok.

Day 06: Gangtok – Bagdogra Airport/ NJP Railway Station (120 KMS/5 HRS)
Have some delicious breakfast and then leave for Bagdogra Airport / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station for your onward journey. Your arrival at the Airport / Railway station will mark the end of Darjeeling Kalimpong Gangtok Tour Package & services of AMT. Tour concludes with everlasting memories of Northeast.
